refreshing India Pale Ale where a relatively light malt body of Maris Otter, pilsner malt, light caramel malt and wheat is balanced by a nice hop bite from Columbus, Saaz and Amarillo. Dry hopped with Amarillo. Ølfabrikken Sommer IPA is, of course, unpasteurized, unfiltered and cask conditioned like all of our beers.

"NorCal tasting Apr 07 - There a few people to thank for this. First off, thanks to Papsoe for bringing this with him on his recent trip to the US, and thanks to Aspidites for sharing! Beer pours out a dark orange color with a nice off-white one-finger head. Aroma that first hits me is cat piss. Catty as can be. Flavors were a bill of clean hops, fresh and piney with a light malt profile. A very nice IPA. Nothing wrong at all and I can see drinking this in mass quantities...if I was ever in Denmark that is."

"(Batch #143). Hazy orange colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is flowery hops along with caramel and yeast. Flavour is flowery hops, yeast and slight alcohol. Enrmous and brutal IPA, yet very smooth and pleasant. Aftertaste is hoppy and yeasty. "

" Clear pale amber amber with rich white foam. Dryish hop aroma of orange-peels, grass and ink. Hoppy and dry orangey flavour. Grass, orange-peels and flowers. Creamy mouthfeel. Bitter aftertaste of orange-peels and grass. I’m not a huge fan of Amarillo hops but this one was really refreshing and quaffable."
