Purple Haze is a crisp, American style wheat beer with raspberry puree added after filtration. Therefore, you may see raspberry pulp in the beer. The raspberries provide the lager with a subtle purple coloration and haze, a fruity aroma, and a tartly sweet taste.

"$2.75 at main street bar and grill in aliquippa. Never thought I try this but, I asked for something different and she served this up. I was expecting a sweet beer, wheat and raspberry and all. Was a little disappointed in the flavor. Just your typical american beer with a little non sweetened raspberry flavor added. Not impressed. Not my cup of tea. 9/16/2006 1:15:57 PM"

"Pours a hazy honey-golden with a decent head. Rich malty aroma has strong overtone of raspberry - and I LOVE raspberries. Flavor is mouth filling, mainly malty with some hops and loads of raspberry taste and some sweetness. Finish is smooth and satisfying. I guess you have to love raspberries to appreciate this one.
Did I mention that I love raspberries?"

"This American style wheat beer pours a hazy gold with purple hues (go figure). Raspberry puree is added after filtration thus, some raspberry pulp remains in the beer. It has a mild fruit aroma, and a sweet-tart like taste. Not one of my favorites.

"Fruity aroma. Definitely raspberries, no doubt. But the fruit overwhelms the potential of a complex melding of malt and hops. Sure easy to drink, refreshing but I was drinking a druit juice with a kick."

"I gave haze a halfway-descent score because every once in a while I find it a nice change of pace aside from my usual beers. I've never experienced raspberry pulp in this beer even though the fruit is added post filtration. It's head is rather sparse and goes away quickly. The scent isn't that great. I find it rather stale with only a subtle hint of raspberry. The taste is an improvement over it's appearance and scent but it's a very temperature sensitive beer, that is, if it's served ice cold it loses much of its fruity flavor. If it sits out for more than 10 minutes it gets bitter pretty fast. Since it's pretty light for drinkin' it will more than likely be gone before it gets to that point, unless you sip it like tea...
If you like fruit beers there are better ones out there than purple haze but this is worth tying once."
