"I had the chance to try this side by side with one of the other Adnam's ESBs, the Broadside. I felt that the Explorer was the weaker of the two. The Explorer is a golden coloured beer with a thin whitish head. The aroma was rather skunky - not a lot of malt, hops, or yeast to speak of. The flavour was similarly bad."

"Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is hoppy, flowery and quite sweetish. Flavour is grassy malts with hoppy hints. Watery. Weird thing that a 5.5% ESB can be this boring. "

"500 ml brown bottle, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. ABV is 5.5%. Brewed with American Chinook and Columbus hops. Golden colour, large foamy head. Pleasant hoppy aroma and flavour, both with notes of citrus and dry white wine. Bitter finish. Okay beer, but I’d like the malts to come through too."
