Style:
Oatmeal Stout. The origins of Oatmeal Stout go back hundreds of years when oats were added to Stouts to promote a healthier image than other beers available during that time period.
Flavor Profile:
The unique blend of the oats and malts in Alaskan Stout produce a balanced, smooth beer with hints of coffee and caramel.

Golding hops.

Alaskan Stout is well matched with clams, oysters and pork tenderloin. For a special treat, pour over vanilla ice cream or serve with chocolate.

"12 oz bottle. Pours a dark brown / black with a thin brown head that quickly diminishes to a thin collar.
The aroma is a bit subdued but nice - sweet grainy chocolate malts and some coffee.
The flavor is sweet lactic and nutty chocolate malts with some coffee notes. It has a roasted dry finish that balances the sweetness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and slightly watery and chalky.
Overall, a nice easy drinking stout."

"This beer carries with it the characteristics of the entire brewery. The same distinct flavor is prevelant as in any of the other Alaskan beers. A nice dark color without a heavy load."

"Pours a very dark brown with a thinnish light tan head. Aroma is strongly roasted, espresso, burnt dark chocolate, grass, and molasses. Flavor starts with some caramel and molasses, followed by coffee and burnt chocolate. Turns lightly acidic before finishing out with burnt toast and some light grain husk flavors. Supremely quaffable, a nice light, easy drinking stout."

"Pours a pitch black color with some head and little lace. Aroma is sweet, almost like molases, coffee, and caramel Taste is sweet coffee and dark fruits. Palate is creamy typical of Oatmeal Stouts. Overall, it’s pretty good but nothing overly special. Oh, I should add that the bottle has changed from the picture here."
