"On tap at the brewery. Reddish brown color, hoppy aroma, mild flavor. It's a nice session brew. I'll have to try it again; it didn't overwhelm me with flavors"

"Big copper colored brew. Big malt front with a huge hop back running to the rescue. Creamy palate.Excellent session brew if you could get it."

"A beer I've never seen anywhere but at The Liar's Club in Mission Beach. So when I saw it being offered at O'Brien's tonight, I had to do a double-take.
While It's quite true that I generally shy away from "Red Beers" (i.e. too damn cloyingly sweet), I also knew that this is a recipe that dates all the way back to the Skip Virgillo-era of Alesmith -- who would never put his name onto a beer that he couldn't give a thumbs-up to. And, in turn, I'm hard-pressed not to give this a thumbs-up, too.
I'll skip the obvious (i.e. "This beer is pretty-damn red in color" Duh), and cut right to the quick, as far as what this beer has in store.
Nicely complex malt bill. Yes, this does look good, but, more importantly, it tastes good, and feel good in the mouthfeel -- and all leading up to the fact that this is pretty damn tasty in the drinkability dept.
I do wish that this had something of a more aggressive hop profile (ala Midnight Sun's Humpy's Sockeye Red IPA), but even as a "normal" Red -- this aint bad. No, not at all.
A nice pint of beer, that I can easily see getting again with no qualms. Recommended.

"I too had this on cask and wasn't overly impressed. Nice red color and smooth mouthfeel. Not as hoppy as I'd like but has a nice malt finish."

"This brew pours with a beautiful reddish body topped by a medium thick foamy off-white head with good lacing. The aroma is slighlty sweet and well balanced leaning towards grapefruity hops. The flavor is sweet and grapefruity from the hops with a good malty balance and a nice grapefruity hop finish. Medium bodied and very smooth. "
