Horny Devil (formerly known as Belgian Strong Ale) is inspired by the curious beers produced by Trappist monks in monasteries across Belgium. The beer's dryness and strength are the result of a unique Trappist yeast strain in a warm fermentation.

"Horny Devil poured a murky yellow body with orange hues. A thick white head that left decent lace. Aromas of apricots, peach, and coriander were faint but noticeable. Mouthfeel was thick with a slight bite from the alcohol and carbonation. The flavor was a bit of a let down, alcohol was too dominant to let the flavors through. The only flavor that came through was yeast and that led to a unusual aftertaste, not that bad but not good either. Overall it was an o.k. brew, i have a second one i will try in a few days, maybe it will taste better."

"Bottle. Poured a cloudy amber color with no head or lacing. Amazing aroma of coriander, apricot, and maybe a little citrus to it. Excellent full mouthfeel. Complex flavor. Definite coriander start, with a strong alcohol taste to it as well. Finish is almost peach-like. A great offering from Alesmith."

"Ehhh...not sure I was digging this one. Poured light yellow color, smallish head. Strong aroma of barnyard funk and wheat. Almost tasted like a really sweet wheat beer. Honey, vanilla, spice...all kinds of stuff. I'm just not sure I really was digging this one. For AleSmith, not my favorite."

"Bottle courtesy of Black95tt: Poured a light orangey color ale with a good foamy head with little retention. Aroma of spices is clearly dominating with some traces of the Belgian yeast. The spices that probably include coriander also dominate taste as well as slightly funky yeast, some sweet malt and a light dry finish. Alcohol is well masked which I appreciated but body was a bit too watery for the style."
