"From Hi-Time Wine Cellars. Pours a clear copper-orange color with a thick long-lasting head. Lots of lacing ends up on the glass. The aroma is wonderful, loads of hops, with some notes of citrus and malt as well. This is a great beer and what an IPA should taste like, big bitter piney hoppy flavor with grapefruit and some lemon too. Real solid sweet malt backing which I get as soon as my palate adjusts to the blast of hops. Too bad I have to order this to get it. I've got it rated even higher than Stone IPA. "

"My first Ale smith product, i had to have these shipped in by finewinehouse.com, overall i was pleased with thier service. Anyway back to the IPA, the aroma was wonderful with hints of pine, citrus, apple, malts and some floral notes being present. Apperance was a cloudy deep copper colored body, mouthfeel was thick and chewy. Flavor was similar to aroma with apple, pine and citrus sharing the stage, and the finish was malty. Overall a very good IPA, that is certianly worth your time. However I think that Stone is a little better. "

"This beer made me sad. Sad that even though I live in California, I don't have access to it in Northern California. I had to make a SoCal trip to get it. If I had access to it, I would have this stocked at my house 24/7. This is a beer that is just simply stunning from start to finnish. Aroma is perfectly balanced with big bready sweet malts, and juicy citrusy hops. Smelling this beer just made my mouth water. This beer was just insanely tasty. Once the beer hit my tastebuds it was over. I'm used to solid WC IPA's but this was clearly a breed apart. It's citrusy hop blast is counterbalanced with the malts in a way that is something to appreciate. You start getting all kinds of different flavors...passion fruit, grapefruit, tart apples, papayas. Excellent beer. Highly recommended. "

"Bottle. Pours a murky amber color with lots of floating sediment and a thick off-white head. Aroma is hoppy with a strong pine nose to it. Flavor is nice and hoppy, with hints of grapefruit and a bitter pine finish to it. Another top-notch offering from Alesmith."

"This beer poured with a muddy orange body and was topped off by a thick off white head that left light lace down the sides of the glass. The aroma was a rich shot of citrusy hops with a smooth caramel background. Mouthfeel was very full, rich and creamy. The flavor was very nice with full flavors of everything floarl, piney, and citrusy hops; some sweet malts lightly come out in the dry finish. A very nice IPA just below the leval of a Stone, but still right up there with Bell's and Victory."
