Speedway Stout is a HUGE Imperial Stout, with pounds and pounds of coffee added during conditioning for a little extra kick! This is a limited-edition Formula and it'll definitely get you racing! It is available in 750 ml. champagne bottles. Appearance: Jet Black, with a toast-brown head. Flavor: Starts with a strong coffee and dark chocolate sensation, then fades to a multitude of toasty, roasty and caramelly flavors. Finishes with a nice fullness but dry enough not to be cloying. Aroma: COFFEE! And some other stuff. And coffee. Mouthfeel (body/texture): Velvety smooth texture. Clean and crisp, full-bodied. Warmth from the high alcohol content lightens up the feel a bit. Still, you won't fool your taste buds -- this beer is HUGE!

"My friend gave this to me for my birthday. I decided to crack it open when he was here and a few others friends were around too. I don't even know where to begin with this. The aroma wafting out of the glass was heavy and rich with notes of coffee, some chocolate, and thick hops. The pour into the glass is like motor oil, but the carbonation is soft enough to keep it from becoming syrupy. Looks like a black hole of a beer (no light escaping, and dense enough to absorb all surrounding light by creating its own gravitational pull) with a dark tan foamy head. There is a lot of coffee in the taste, and the finish is dry with a heavy espresso-like aftertaste. Heavy on the coffee, yes, but also chocolaty, and oh so smooth. This is truly a gift to be cherished and remembered."

"I guess I'm not a stout girl. After embarking on this hobby, I was able to secure several specimens of the top beers from around the country. I've drank about 500 different beers in the last 8 months, and I have a couple hundred more in my boyfriend's beer fridge. This brew (and that applies to it's coffee like features) is very dark, and has the thickness of a V-8 as opposed to a Bud Light. The aroma is bitter coffee. Bitter, bitter, bitter. It rolled on the tongue without any carbonation. The flavor was also very bitter. I did not like."

"Come on!!!! This is not that great. It smells good. And it looks good. It's just good. Not great. Pours jet black with a small copper head which quickly dissipates. It smells like an imperial stout, but the taste... a little too sweet. It's almost like cough syrup. I am not impressed. Get some Sam smiths or North coast rasputin if you want an imperal stout. That's the stuff. This??? Ok there's a little coffee and a lot of sweetness. But it's no 5 or 4.5. A 4 maybe... I was really disappointed. "

"Sample courtesy of beercronic who cellared this fine beer for two long years in his beerium. Me and beercronic first drank this two years ago with a fresh bottle (what I never reviewed for some reason) and saved this second bottle for now two long years later. Extremely opaque dark brown with zero light penetration the thick dark brown cap that sits on top had phenomenal staying power. Aroma was very nice it was a good balance of coffee and chocolate with the chocolate coming out stronger, alcohol was noticeable but barely along with some Christmas style spices. Where is the 12% you can hardly notice it maybe all this delicious coffee and chocolate are hiding it in the taste. There is for sure a burnt quality to the flavor and a very weak raspberry taste, the after taste was short lived and mildly bitter. This a great brew and I would give beercronics left nut to get more however if memory serves correctly I believe I enjoyed the fresh bottle better."

"Sampled bottle, RBNAG 2007 in Grimstad. Pitch black colour. Intense but pleasant roasty aroma and flavour, notes of leather and tar. Strong and powerful, but carries its strength well."
