Interlude- somewhere between the leap and the landing. It’s a jazz solo, the riffing, the unexpected improvisation. Rooted in a Belgian theme, Interlude soars from a second fermentation with our own Brettanomyces yeast. Then takes five in French oak wine barrels that once cellared fine Merlots and Sirahs. And then bottle conditioning. In all, an outrageous effort to make a bottle of beer. But then, if you prefer to swing with magnificent red wine notes and funky farmhouse flavors dancing in the undercurrents of a crisp, remarkable brew, then Interlude has that thing. C’est le gout, toujours! It’s the taste that is always an adventure.

"Enjoyed a 750ml bottle of this at the Brickskeller in DC. Poured a deep golden with a modest white head. Aromas of fruit and wood. Smooth, full mouthfeel. Complex flavors of cherries, vanilla, spice and grapes; oak up front with bitter circumscription. Race between sour and bitter to the finish."

"hazy golden with a low white foam. Fruity and tart aroma of bretts, citrus, white grapes and wood. Full and lively flavour of citric fruit, wild yeast, wood and white wine. Full bodied with a prickly carbonation. Long fresh finish of lemon and green grapes. Nice one!"

"Wild bret aroma. Beautiful orangey cider color nice lacing and ead. Fruity, lots of apple present and a wild lambic like sourness/funk. Seemed more lambic-like than saison-like. The sweet barrel aged wine/oak hints makes this much more palatable. Good beer."

"Thanks Dr. Bill. Pours with a slightly cloudy orange-amber body topped by a medium thick to thick head with a good amount of lacing. The aroma is sour and tart with a note of lemon and a nice funk. The flavor is sour yet floral...it loses a lot in the flavor. Medium bodied, crisp and dry."
