This is our first ever Scotch Ale. A big, malty, winter warmer.

"This is a dark reddish-brown beer with an aroma of chocolate, cherries, and malt. The mouthfeel is full-bodied with low carbonation. The flavour is malty with a finish that is lightly bitter."

"Bottle courtesy of CBA: Poured a medium amber color ale with a small foamy head that quickly disappeared. Aroma of malt is weaker then expected and no peat malt could be detected which is what I usually look for into scotch ale. Taste is also weaker then expected with some malt with some very subtle dry fruits characteristics but not as much as I would have expected. Definitely weaker then I would have expected and not something I would go looking for again."

"from the opening of the bottle, banana's, plums, and caramel tickle the nose. the appearance isnt great, little head no bubbles, but what it lacks in looks it makes up in smell and taste. plums and floral undertones seem to be present in the taste, with a slight peppery aftertaste... i was expecting this to be swill, but its actually really good. diffently a easy drinking beer!"

"If you've had Alley Kat beers before, you'll recognize Kiltlifter as one of thiers. Beautiful mahogony colour. Poured smoothly with not enough head and little carbonation. The carmelly and slightly smokey taste hides the 7.5%, but maybe there wasn't enough flavour there for me - a little empty on taste. Nice malty undertones and aroma. Whats left will be consumed during time on couch rotting while watching hockey."
