Alpine Lager is an award winning 5% alcohol by volume beer that is slowly aged to give it a light colour and medium body, with a fleeting hop bitterness and slightly sweet malty aroma, making it a preferred choice of Maritimers since 1937.

"Oland Breweries brewed this at one time in Halifax. As you left the city via the Mic Mac rotary, you saw the placard on the Brewery's building. This was a popular beer in Nova Scotia in the 70s (and maybe still is). Golden brown in colour, slightly cloudy, and slightly hoppy. The mouthfeel is tinged with carbonation. The taste is pretty good considering the cloudy nature. "

"Better than the average Canadian lager - no question there. The aroma is fresh but lacks appeal. Sweet malts, corn and a slight floral hoppiness and some acceptable skunk thats not quite skunky. Bright gold clear (with the presence of some tiny stuff mixed in) brew that poured out a large white rocky head that quickly dissipated to a ring and film that leaves ok spotty lacing. This is a light, weak flavoured beer that has mild dry malts and corn with a hint of bitterness that mixes in well. There is nothing that offends here - taste is just weak. The flavour didn't last and now it's just bland. Watery impression. More sourness that fades now and more obvious bitterness. Thin mouthfeel, highly carbonated and sometimes leaves a harsh bitter aftertaste. A decent beer that just needs more flavour. Nothing that I would ever specifically get a craving for but does the trick when getting blasted with the freaks from the atlantic provinces."

"golden adjunct lager..pretty much the cheapest brew on the east coast...fizzy...weak head, that won't last, corny sweetness in the nose and weak body with a dry finish...cheap beer that won't kill you but there is lots better."

"Sampled from a can that was brought back from New Brunswick. Makeup is predominantly a malt mix, far to the bready side of things. A little on the gritty side. Some copper notes with no discernable hops. Little balance and seems like it could use alittle more maturing... a little more ingredients too - this is a weak lager; low drinkability in my taste. This is right on par with all other Canadian macro swill.

"I grew-up all over North America and have sampled as many international beers as possible. For my tastes there is not a better "session" beer in the world. There is no harsh aftertaste, limited bitterness, nice clear appearance, average head. The only drawback is a strong beer smell from the beer (and the drinker's afterwards), which puts some people off of it. All in all, my favorite Canadian Lager, hands down."
