Anchor Porter is a unique dark brew, which was introduced by Anchor in the early 1970s. Anchor Porter, like all of Anchor Brewing Company's products, is brewed with only natural ingredients. Specially roasted dark malts are used, along with a top-fermenting yeast. The brew is hopped at a very high rate, and is naturally carbonated to produce an intensely rich flavor and thick creamy head.
The rich flavor of Anchor Porter has earned this delicious and unique brew a worldwide reputation for outstanding quality.

"I had been wanting to try this one for a while now, it pours a dark black body with a thin tan cap. Aroma of mocha and a little chocolate, flavors were similar. Mouthfeel was a little on the light side for me, but it was smooth and easy to drink, and a clean finish. Overall it was a pretty good porter."

"Pours black with a thick tan head and very nice tight lacing. Some carbonation. Aromas of sweet roasted malts, coffee, toffee and caramels, and hops. Taste is rich, thick, sweet toasted malts, slight coffee and a hoppy finish."

"My radar takes me to the porters whenever making a beer run. This is a decent porter with black body and tan head. Nice creamy feel with complex coffee-chocolate taste."

"A wonderful beer that's extremely drinkable. This is one of my favorite porters. Nice and dark with a good head. My only complaint is that it comes in only a 12 oz bottle.
