"Bottle from SL. Poured with a golden color, some haze, decent head. The aroma was grassy and piney hops, some fruity esters, yeast. The flavor followed the aroma, yeast, apples, grassy, floral, and musty hops. The mouthfeel was fairly full bodied, dry and clean, highly carbonated."

"I almost didn't find this because it wasn't under Gouden Carolus like their other beers. Anyway, This beer has the strangest head and lacing that I have ever seen. It is super foamy; it fills the glass almost immediately. The foam settles into a thin layer, but its consistency is really unique as well. It looks more like meringue that beer foam: starkly white, and silky, but frothy too. Leaves thick, heavy patches and stripes of lacing on the glass. The flavors include some bananas, grapes, something rather sour, and then the hops rise up. The hops flavors are more floral and resiny than bitter citrus, and this helps balance the beer by adding a new complement that doesn't overpower all the previous flavors. Pretty yeasty smell and taste. There is a little warming alcohol, but I don't taste it. I just feel the alcohol as it settles in my stomach. The mouthfeel is full and soft and oh-so-smooth. This just slides along the tongue and down my throat, but it never becomes oily or mealy. I see I've rated this a lot higher than the other reviewers, but this was SOOOO good. I wish I had picked up more of them, despite the expense. "

"750ml bottle. Pours a hazy golden yellow with a HUGE rocky white head that retains well.
The aroma is sweet bready malts and some floral pilsner style hops (saaz).
The flavor is sweet bready malts with a decent amount of bitterness in the hops. There are some metallic skunky off-notes. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with lots of sharp carbonation.
Overall, tastes like an imperial pilsner. It's not well balanced, fiarly flawed, and doesn't really appeal to me."

"Fantastically explosive, I pulled off the cage and away the cork went, I lost all but about 25cl of my 750ml bottle (luckily most of it into my sink). The head ends up 6 fingers in height in my tulip glass with a pale, off-white color. The beer is deeply hazy with lots of stirred up sediment and is a gold color. The aroma has a bright, herbal, grassy hoppiness to it that has a backdrop of lemon zest, aromatic tangerine and a tropical fruit / kumquat note that gets more prominent the more I dig. The hop aromatics are clearly dominant here, but there is just a hint of cracker like malt to the finish. This smells quite nice to this hophead and I am quite sad I lost so much of this beer.
Lightly sweet with a fruitiness up front. This quickly picks up a green, herbal edge to it through the middle and the finish is a mix of hot alcohol and astringent bitterness. This is very light and thus very quaffable, for a beer of this strength. The hops provide fruit flavors of tangerine, kumquat, lychee, but definitely have an herbal & amply grassy edge to them that is accentuated by the higher alcohols. This can get slightly astringent and the herbal / alcohol notes in the finish provide more of a balance to the up front fruitiness than any light bitterness that is here.
Despite being a bit harsh in the finish, this remains just incredibly easy to drink. I could have easily finished a 750ml bottle by myself and will definitely have to try and get another bottle of this to enjoy.

"This Belgian Strong Ale pours a medium yellow gold color from a 33cl bottle. The beer pours with a frelling huge white rocky foamy head. I mean I got 6 inches of head for every 3/5 of an ounce I poured into my glass, with nice lacing and good retention. When I was able to smell the beer, the aroma is grassy and hoppy. A medium bodied Belgian Strong Ale. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are piney and grapefruity. Nice Belgian yeast and esters, yet the hops are definitely present. Lively carbonation. Nice crisp dry finish. Once I fought my way through the head, this is a very pleasant beer. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter and hoppy. "
