"
Let’s go visit Greece. 11 oz green bottle with a date code to use before 5/07. Purchased at the Evergreen in Rochester for $3.50. I was expecting a skunk aroma when I opened this but it had none. The only aroma it has is of uncooked bread dough with a little fruity perfuminess to it, pleasantly pleasing. The appearance is that of your typical pale yellow american lager but I think there is just a slight haze to it. The head is just a tea froth. Very little impact on the first taste, it is well behaved like a gentleman. Very lager like to say the least. Has some manners that are hard to find in many beers today. There is some mild pilsner bitterness that builds on the back of the throat as you continue to drink. Cannot taste much alky in here, it is well hidden. The back of the throat bitterness levels continues to rise and now I think I can detect some metallic hints in the flavor. Except for that odd building metallic pilsner bitterness, this beer is not too bad. As you finish this bottle the interesting bitterness seems to be the overwhelming attribute, tho not like the acrid bitter bite that is so common with many pale ales, this is more like the taste associated with a good pilsner. Many cheap american pale lagers match this in flavor and are much cheaper, Schmidt’s and Old German come to mind. However, good to try once and if it was not so expensive, I would not hesitate to buy again.

"A very one dimensional beer. All skunked hops, it is what I expected, so I'm not upset, but I still could have been more. Very light and refreshing and a great palate cleanser after that barleywine at Schlafly."

"This is one nasty, skunky beer. The second I opened the bottle the smell immediately turned me off. Pours a golden color with a white head that dissipates quickly. Taste is skunky and weak with a bad bitterness. Not a hoppy bitterness, just old, gross beer bitterness. This is my first Greek beer, and I'm hoping there is better stuff out there. Stay away! Do not even bother. "

"Adecent lager that reminds me of a wheat beer. Has a large head with a cloudy gold color. The aroma is bready with oats. The taste is somewhat dry. Has a floury mouthfeel. Has a decent character."

"Pale golden color, fizzy head. Skunky, malty aroma. Well carbonated, but not necessarily a good thing. A little sweet, medium-light body. Ends with a grassy bitterness. Pretty bland and hardly something I'd ever want to drink. I hope for the olympic athlete's sake that there are better beers available in Athens!"
