The pleasant, dark Doppelbock of monasterial origin, especially suited for festivities during the chilly season.

"Bountiful Doppelbock, this one is top notch. Sweet and nutty aroma with dense dark fruit notes. Rich amber red with a sizable light tan head and lots of spotty lacing. Medium body but exceptionally creamy and filling. Very smooth with a tantalizing sweetness and slow finish. Flavor ranges from sweet to nutty. Fruity, sugary malt with raisins and dry roasted nuts. Grapes, caramel, and some cedar. Complex and easy, this is outstanding."

"This has to be the best doppelbock I have ever drank. I immediately noticed the deep red brown colored body that had aromas of caramel and brown butter(nut like characteristics. I noticed the flavors of caramel, toffee, roasted nuts on my palate but also had a warming effect as it hit the back of the tongue. All in all a very good beer on a cold fall and/or winter day."

"A typical liquorish doppelbock. I don't understand why it's rated so much better than the Helles. It's not as refreshing and no beer for a hot summerday. In most pubs it's just out for Starkbierzeit during March/April."

"This dopplebock pours a deep brown color from a 12oz bottle. Small sized white foamy head. Aroma is caramel, bread and brown sugar. A medium bodied dopple. Malts are caramel and sweet. Some cherries, some dark bread and some chocolate flavors. Kind of earthy, Not a lot of carbonation. Very smooth tasting. Perhaps a little watery and flat, but that might be due to the lack of carbonation. All in all not bad. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. "

"I love doppelbocks. Poured a brown color with a nice head, with not much lacing. Aroma was malty, and of dark fruits. Mouthfeel was a little bit creamy. Very good beer. "
