In the 1700's one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content preserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado's hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

"That sure was a nice IPA , poured a nice thick head of beer, great color. I now have identified the hops in this beer. Overall, a very nicely put together beer."

"Pours a bright, but cloudy orange colour- head is fairly large- white and floral. Nice citrusy character, soft and piney but typicaly hopped. My only complaint about this brew is- there's nothing exciting about it. Pretty standard for the most part. Nothing unique, lots of hops and fruit but basic overall."

"Golden colored with perhaps a hint of orange in there with a nice foamy head. Nice pine needle, citrus hop aroma. Bitter piney hop flavor with a touch of light malt that balances it nicely. Flavor seemed rather tame and easy drinking for the style. Smooth and actually pretty refreshing. This a solid IPA I'd have no problem going back to. In a taste test, not quite as good as the Clipper City Loose Cannon IPA. "

"Bottle: Poured a golden color ale with a big foamy head with good retention but no lacing. Aroma of dry bitter hops with minimal floral or citrus notes. Taste is also dominated by some dry bitter hops with some light caramel malt notes. Medium body with good carbonation. Not bad overall and pretty straight forward – I would have preferred more citrus notes and some floral notes but still enjoyable nonetheless."

"Single from the local shop, with the price of hops going up it appears IPA's may become more of a treat than a good ol' stand-by. Rich evergreen aroma, lots of pine and a touch of floral scents. Clear golden-copper color with a thin head and mild lacing. A steady, lazy carbonation is present. Rich and aggressive, the sticky hops cling to the mouth and a pleasant, thick bitterness remains. Good flavor, typical of this great style. Hearty malt with some light caramel and nutty flavors that are overtaken by a strong evergreen and citrus content. Fine IPA in all regards, although I prefer a little more grapefruit and citrus."
