A beer that has a dominant malty taste. This beer’s origins
in a monk’s recipe are reflected in its heartiness. The Pope of Beers, Conrad Seidl, describes it as: “Almost black with a very slight red tone, a sensational, festive foam and truly extraordinary fragrance that at first summons up visions of greaves lard. The first taste is of mild fullness with an accompanying coffee tone, which becomes more dominant with the aftertaste. There is very little of the sweetness that is frequently to be tasted with doppelbock beer.” The Ayinger Celebrator has been ranked among the best beers of the world by the Chicago Testing Institute several times and has won numerous platinum medallions.

"This comes out of the tap a deep, opaque sable, almost like a stout or porter rather than a bock. Rich, malty aroma has undertones of chocolate and roast coffee. Flavor is smooth and malty, with some hop bitterness and a mocha undertone. There are hints of sweet, nutty and caramel flavors as well. Texture is smooth and pleasing, making for one lip-smacking bock."

"Purchased "on a whim" in Astoria, Oregon. At first I thought $3.30 was a bit steep for such a small bottle, but afterwards, this was indeed a bargain! It poured a terrific dark and thick glassful, along with a surprisingly small head, what there was being thin and tan. Aroma was rife and rich with malts and spices, and it tasted just that, too. Utterly delicious to drink, along with a "solid" mouthfeel and a (slightly) sweet finish. "

"Very tasty right from the bottle. Like a dense, savory wheat bread roll. I yearn for cheese whenever I drink this. Clearly one of the finest beers on the planet. Little to no carbonation, making this one easy going down.
The best!"

"After seeing this one several times i finally bought a 4 pack, at $14 its a bit steep but sometimes you get what you pay for, and I did. Celebrator pours a dark black body, even with a fair amount of carbonation the head is rather thin. Aroma of chocolate and roasted malts. Flavor of ample roasted malts, some chocolate, and coffee. It starts out slightly sweet with a mildly bitter bite and earthy finish. Havent had to many dopplebocks but this one was the best by far, so far. Their box lists all their accolades which are well deserved."

"A mild aroma that merely hints at the taste enjoyment to follow. It appears plain to the nose and eye, but to the mouth, it is a tasty treat! Rich and creamy, but light on the palate."
