"This beer was not what I was expecting and that is a letdown. It's a tad watery and weak and has no discernable aroma. This is the pale ale equivalent of a ale lager. In other words it's a slighty hoppyish swill pale ale."

"This beer poured a beautiful gold colour with a vanishing white head. The aroma is malty, with some citrusy and hoppy tones. It's a medium bodied, medium carbonated ale. The flavour is mild and slightly hoppy. Not a bad beer at all. Goes down well."

"New arrival at the LCBO in Ottawa, comes in a six pack. Pretty good aroma of barley. Pours a golden colour with a slight haze to it. The head is white and creamy, with very good retention and lacing. Carbonation is quite active. Good refreshing mouthfeel with the taste of the barley and a light aftertaste of bitterness. Nothing too crazy, but a really nice summer Canadian pale ale."

"Bottle (no date code)
Poured a clear gold with a nice frothy 2 finger sticky cap...great lacing and retention.
Nose is simple..grainy sweetness with light fruity ( apple) tones
Medium-light body fluid mouth feel, pleasant 2 dimensional charcter
Up front modest malts and light hopping allow the subtle fruity esters to be detected...fast clean finish..lightly sweet with mild apple tastes.
An inoffensive solid all malt mild pale..nothing wrong with it nothing really exceptional either."

"This may be a new bottling of Red Coat Ale but I am not certain. This is certainly not a beer for the faint of heart. Very bland very dry taste, with not alot to it. Its chief strength is its snazzy bottle art and its size and price. Its only avliable in 650 ml cans. Reedit: July 20th 2007, I tried the bottle of Harvest Gold at the local lcbo again and I believe that it is a diffrent beer then the Red Coast. Still very hoppy but smoother on the aftertaste and a very nice summer ale, Certainly not related to the Red Coat"
