"I had this back in March of 2009. It pours out a chocolaty brown with a very fine-bubbled head and lots of fine, descending bubbles like Guinness - clearly the result of nitrogen tapping. An extra half point for that. Smoky, chocolaty aroma has nutty and molasses hints. Flavor is mainly of unsweet chocolate with a molasses undertone and hints of smoke and nuts. Velvety smooth texture has a good tingle to it."

"My favourite stout(apart from the discontinued gillespies. Beamish has a lovely creamy taste with a perfect balance. Smells great and goes down really smooth. Superb."

"In the "nitro" can - a beautiful pour with a almost black color and that massive "live" head that maintains throughout leaving very nice lacing. Very carbonated. Big toasted malts, slight cocoa and coffee, bit of toffee and hops all in the aromas. Taste is SMOOTH with a creaminess and slight sweetness then a bit of hops. Classic."

"although the same traditional style, this one is smoother and has a slightly more pronounced flavor than Guiness, and therefore is a more enjoyable beer."

"Among the very best stouts available on the market and simply unbeatable when served fresh from the tap. Perfect with Irish weather and traditional Irish fare. Smooth, flavorful and a beauty to behold in a tulip glass. Nearly perfect in every respect."
