This is a hoppy IPA. Did I say hops? Your brewer is a hop head! This is a full bodied beer using American grains. The goal was to create a base for showing off the unique floral qualities of two Pacific Northwest hops, Columbus and Cascade. Columbus is a new hybrid High Alpha Acid hop used mostly for bittering, but used heavily as an aromatic in this strong brew. Cascade is the balance that ties the malt and bittering hops together. It is a true specialty ale and is our brewer's statement on this style. 2004 L.A. "Chock full of evergreen and tart citrus, the aroma is strong and real nice. Light golden-copper body with a bubbly white head and stringy lacing. The beer has a glowing haze due to the bottle conditioning. Filling beer with a very bitter mouth feel that really awakens the taste buds. Grapefruit galore backed by resinous pine, bread, and nuts. An aggressive IPA with plenty of puckering, lip smacking goodness."

"Picked up a bomber of this at Vintage Cellar in Blacksburg, VA and am I glad I did. Orange colored, pours with a nice off-white head and a little bit of retention. Aroma is wonderful, floral with loads of pine needles and hops. The flavor follows suit, citrusy with a blast of pine needles and hops up front. Crisp and bitter in the finish. There's a syrupy malt base that is noticed more as the beer warms a little. This is terrific stuff and a true top notch IPA. "

"Pours a hazy, golden copper color with a fluffy white head and good lacing. Aroma of floral, piney hops. Citrus hops flavors blend perfectly with the malty base. Mouthfeel is meduim full and creamy. Finishs with a a nice little bite and a hint of sweetness.
I need to do a side by side tasting with Stone IPA.

"Pretty copper body with a thick creamy beige head. The aroma and hop content were a little disappointing, i was expecting a little more srength in both areas. However it has a nice mouthfeel, the taste was well balanced, slightly sweet and not bitter. A very soild IPA, i reccomend trying this beer."

"I tried this beer about a while back and was somewhat disappointed. It wasn't the first one of the evening. I have drank it many times since. Now it's a whole 'nother story. Pours a nice copper color with a long lasting head. Very piney nose with some citrus. Strong hop flavor with tangerine and flowers. The malt comes through prominently, giving it a very balanced feel. Definitely one of my favorites that I've tried. Very impressed. Recommended. "
