"Pours out in a opaque black colour with a beige creamy lasting head. Big aroma of black coffee, black chocolate, tar with a strong presence of leafy, minty and citric hops. Big and uncompromising flavour and mouthfeel of black bitter coffee, grapefruit, mint, pine-needles and cocoa. Long bitter finish of grapefruit, menthol, coffee, pepper and alcohol. Extravagant and bold stuff. "

"Bottled. Opaque black colour with small brown head. Aroma is roast, alcohol, fruits, yeast and hops. Flavour is very much the same with some mild vanilla, old coffee and salted licorice. Rather out of balance for my taste with all the sweetish sour stuff mixed into this one. "

"Beautiful, very hoppy smell with dates. Pepper and citrus along with a bit of ash. The roastiness has a bit of conflict with the hops, though. This is a very hoppy imperial stout. I’d love to see that hop profile on a brown ale, though."

"I'm a bit disappointed in the fact that the beer's label says it's from New Mexico but apparently it's from Oregon? And here I was thinking I'd be able to check of a beer from New Mexico (I've already got plenty of beers from Old Mexico). The beer pours out suprisingly still. I mean really still with basically no head. I like head. Head is good so when you have no head, can that still be good? Anyways, the aroma is slightly boozey, a roasted smokeyness, licorice and figs as well as the expected sweet malts. Alcohol also permeates the senses. Appearance is jet black but due to not having any head, it gets a few points knocked off. Medium body. Flavors of roasted malts, coffee, scorched chocolate, alcohol and dark fruits. Not a world class stout, but still tasty."
