A refreshing example of an India Pale Ale from the master brewers at Belhaven. The blend of Cascade and Challenger hops combine to produce an abundance of fresh hop aroma that preludes a bitter-dry taste explosion. Crafted from nearly three centuries of brewing heritage at Scotland's oldest independent brewery, this ale from Belhaven will have your taste buds tingling.

"KSBF 08 - Orange amber pour with small layer of foam. Balanced beer with lots of floral english style hops and sweet malt. Crisp and refreshing. Probably the best English IPA I've had yet."

"An IPA from Belhaven? Who'd have dunk? This is by far the most interesting IPA I have had. The hops are less bittering and more in the nose herbal and citrusy. The body is an intensely cloudy copper color. The head is small, but hangs around for awhile, settling into a soapy lacing. The taste is ever so slitly bittering, then in not as intense as most IPA's. It was a good drink, all around, in part because of his uniqueness. it went well as IPA's do with take out froed Chinese dishes. "

"A dark golden amber apperance and a nice white head. Very little aroma but it was of grapefruit/ citrus, as for the flavor it didnt have as many hops as i expected, it tasted more like a pale ale than an india. Other than that, it is a quality brew definetley worth a try."

"Cloudy amber coloring with a moderate, rocky head. Aroma reaches you from the pour - a flowery, herbal hop jumps out of the bottle and the malt is available as the beer settles. A faint chlorine aroma was also present and persistent. Beer has a thick, sticky mouthfeel to it. Flavor is strangely malt focused... There are hops of course, but for a beer calling itself an IPA I expected quite a different profile. Hops are not 'in your face' assertive. The aftertase was slightly bitter, but balanced. Notice a raisin note in the finish that continued to make this beer confusing to me - I think I liked it, but I'm not real sure."
