A biting, bitter, tongue bruiser of an ale. With a name like Hopslam, what did you expect?

"Sample from a bottle stamped batch 8277. I'm a hop guy, so I'm excited as this is only my second sampling of hopslam. The pour is epic, with a beautiful hazy orange and a bubbly white head with nice retention. The aroma is a mixed bag of alcohol, pine needles, orange and lemon peel, and caramel malts. The taste is a menagerie that changes from sweet honey/malts to a quick alcohol burn and finally the hopslam in the aftertaste. Non IPA fans will like the smooth mouthfeel and the initial flavor, until the hops explode at the end. This is it for IIPA's for me, easily my favorite in a pretty stacked category. My bottle was brewed in early January, so some of the hops may have faved. Nonetheless, this is such a treat, from the sweet, honey/malt beginning to the piney-grapefruity finish, this is one of the best double IPA's out there."

"Pours a very cloudy amber with a small, off-white head. Extremely fresh aroma of pine needles and peaches - some really great esters up there. Medium body with some sweet caramel."

"Sublime nose; essence of sweet, fruity, bitter, floral hops. Grapefruit and roses; petals and thorns. Perfume and pine; fir and cedar. Lemon and incense; rosewood and sandalwood. Fragrant. Aromatic. Redolent. Beautiful deep golden, thin white head, light lace. A full, rich, smooth bite of a kiss. Cordially bitter with concomitant soft sweetness. Luxurious. Citrus and resin. Pith-bitter finish missing the malt complement. Stops. Short. MUSIC: 'God is in the Roses' by Roseanne Cash. 'May not last forever, but it never will be done.'"

"Orange color with a minimal soapy head. Aroma is oranges, pine, candi yams, and perfume. The flavor is rather bitter with some caramel, pine, oranges, brown sugar. Overall this is a good beer.
