It is a Bavarian-style Weizen (made with a blend of barley and grain malt) produced by way of decoction, with 5% alcohol by volume (12 Plato degrees). Aromatic and refreshing, it is more effervescent than other Birrificio Italiano® beers. It can be served with a slice of lemon or au natural. It is always rather cloudy because one of the yeast strains used is not easily decanted. For the record, adding lemon is a German tradition that was originally introduced to cover the unpleasant acidic flavor of old beer. Unpasteurized Weizen is very delicate beer that does not have a long shelf life.
