"This is a murky orangy-gold pour with a white head. The aroma is dominated by citrus tones with some hops. The flavour itself is a complex mishmash of malt, spices, and hoppy bitterness."

"Bottled (As Summer Saison)@SBWF2007. Hazy orange colour, small white head. Citrusfruits in nose along with some earth and malts. Also some slight hayish notes. Flavour is the same. Not very much Belgian saisonlike notes... "

[3] Review by Phil B from Gatineau, Canada who has tried this beer once. (11/14/2006 2:15:53 PM)
"Bottle courtesy of Hogtownharry: Poured a deep golden orange color ale with a big foamy head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of funky east with some orange and other spices. Taste is dry with some floral malt and a long yeasty finish with layer of complexity. Body is a bit light but it doesn’t hurt the beer too much overall. I got too admit that I wasn’t expecting so much from this one and was pleasantly surprised."

"Bottled...second lot made this summer. Poured a cloudy orange-gold...cood carbonation fluffy cap had fair retention but not as much as most hefeweizens. Nose is more distinct in spice pronouncement...corriander, pepper, citrus. Prickly mouth feel...good malt presense..spices, wheat and hops blend in a tart but malty beer. Finishes fairly fast and tart...spicey, sparkling tart and refreshing...bravo Black Oak.

On tap at the judge. Taps a coudy orange with a nice tight frothy cap. Aromas of fresh fruit spices and an earty yeast smell. Starts tart and citrusy then mellows with a sweet matly departure accented by spice and apricot...finish is clean and refreshing. A much cleaner and refreshing drink than it’s Belgian original...I like this as much as a light hefeweiss for quenching....a very nice brew for the summer.
