Another fine addition to the Black Sheep Brewery range of premium bottled ales, our Holy Grail Bitter was specially commissioned to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Monty Python.
It has a distinctive taste with plenty of fruity hops, and is full flavoured with a dry and refreshing bitterness.

"This brew poured a copper-orange with a big off-white head and lots of lacing. Floral hop aroma with hints of citrus and apples. Starts off with a caramel taste and finishes with hop bitterness. Medium mouth feel. Refreshing with the sweetness complimenting the bitterness."

"I enjoyed this bee with hot wings found it very pleasant and refreshing probably better in the summer than winter. I found this beer to be fruity in aroma. Soft and refreshing to pallet. The bitter lasted the perfect length of time with no after taste. Not a beer to savor but more a compliment to spicy foods."

"Not the average ESB I am used to. The body was a bit too thin and I never got a sense that there was a hop-malt balance that epitomizes a ESB. I tasted more malt and caramel than hops on the palate. My sense was that the hop flavor was way too mellow for my taste."

"poured a very amber gold color with a thick off whit head that diminishe quickly to just the out rim the aroma is almost rusty or metallic with some floral and honey hints the flavor is dull with the same metallic since of the aroma but the floral notes and honey stand out more here with a little bit of a hoppy finish and aftertast the mouthfeel was a little to carbonated for my likings but overall decent "

"And now - a man with TWO recorders up this nose!.....hahah Python nerdiness...A brilliant orange brew that produced a huge light tan cap with excellent retention and leaving a fairly dirty glass. Zero effervecence. The aroma come quick with a very soft peach / orange mix, bready malts, hops and honey (?). Fragrant and floral as well. Once warmer, the smell is mainly malts. Taste for me was obvious - floral hops. Some sourness and so-so malt content. Too bad that I find the sour flavour annoying enough to leave a negative impression. Light medium bodied with ok carbonation. The bitterness is almost metallic. Bitter finish as expected. The mouthfeel is pretty good but the underlying sourness has really turned me of of this beer. "
