Nearly black with ruby glints and a creamy head, Boréale Noire is a full-bodied stout. Its rich velvety taste suggests dark chocolate and roasted coffee with hints of licorice.

"Bottle:
Pour left a deep black ale with a marvelous 3 finger sticky mocha cap and phenominal galss lace. Moderate carbonation.
Aroma: typical stout smells chocolate, roasted sweet ness, figs, nuts...but very subtle and reduced.
Solid malt spine, full bodied, molky-creamy mouth feel.
Up front you get some burnt treacle tastes, like burnt raisin bread...then a whack of tones like cocoa, tobaccco, nuts as the yeast and hops kick in...finish is wet and thick with a sour-lactic taste and metallic/salted sour cream aftertastes.
A very nice commercial stout...one of the best in Canada in a bottle.

"First of all i have great respect for that microbrewery established in 1988,one of the first micro in Québec province. They brewed excellent all natural beer english style...Poured a black opaque, great head nice lacingand good retention.Roasted cofee aroma, sweet and very lightly carbonated leaves somewhat a strange taste at the finish."

"Pours a pitch black colour with no sign of ruby highlights. The brown head is thick, creamy, foamy and fizzy with great retention. Smells hints of caramel, roasted malts and molasse. Bitterness throughout with a smooth finish. Then, bitterness comes around in the background. Smoky notes in there too, and not sweet at all, nor too dry. More on the coffee side, than on the chocolat side. Great generic stout with a smooth taste and a good alcohol content."

"Real black brew with sweet coffee taste. Pourred a very large black head (very nice look). Not too mucy body and not too com-plex but still very enjoyable. The bitterness level is appropriate. I think this beer is very underrated"
