In a moment of creative chaos, our brewers at Boulder Beer Company decided to take our hopalicious MoJo India Pale Ale to the next level. The Result - MoJo Risin' Double IPA, a souped-up, extreme version of the one and only MoJo IPA. We added more than half a ton of extra malt and twice the amount of Amarillo hops, so be prepared for a full sensory explosion. The double dry-hop addition elevates the grapefruit-like aroma and flavor to an outrageous intensity, while the added malt raises the alcohol level to 10% by volume. And if you say you never loved it, we'll know you are a liar!
This limited edition, single batch brew of MoJo Risin' Double IPA is the 6th Release in our Looking Glass Series of specialty beers. Discover all our award-winning beers at BoulderBeer.com.

"Pretty clear orange color with a nice inital sticky head so I get a lot of lacing. Aroma is pine needles and hops but it's rather subtle especially considering the abv. I taste the hops at first with some lemons and oranges but it quickly turns to a lot of malt and honey and finishes somewhat clean for the style. Good beer but surprisingly I may prefer their regular Mojo IPA. "

"This had a very hoppy aroma upon opening. There was also a subtle sweetness about the aroma as well. It poured a very nice looking amber color with a beautiful, thick head, which lasted quite a long time. The taste was heavy on the hops, a bit citrusy and nutty as well as a shade on the watery side. Overall it wasn't bad, but really nothing special, though."

"A 10% "hopped" up version of their regular Mojo IPA, nice beer. Thick aromas of lemon, grapefruit, flowers, and evergreen. A clear copper pour with a 1/4" lasting off white head coupled by a touch of stringy lacing. Heavy malts lend to a nice creamy mouth feel. Great bitterness that helps this beer drink nice and easy. Bready, cereal malt flavor with fruity grapefruit and orange. Plenty of floral bitterness. Overall the Amarillo hops add more of a bittering element. A tasty hopped up beer, just not my preference when it comes to this style."

"22oz bottle
Pours a clear bright golden color, with a one finger fluffy white head that fades away to a soapy cap. The lacing is a solid sheet of foam, and sticks to the inside of my glass throughout the entire beer.
Smell; lots of citrus, with oranges lemons and a bit of grapefruit, with just a touch of pine trees as well. There's a some hints of bread dough malts in the background, along with a little bit of a sugary aroma. There's absolutely no hint of the 10.5% ABV at all.
Taste; this is a bit more piney upfront than it was in the aroma, with the citrus being secondary, with oranges and lemons. The malts are bready, and caramel, and the finish is a touch on the sugary side.
Mouthfeel is a bit thinner than you would expect for a DIPA, and the drinkability is very good for the really high ABV."

"Bottle. Pours a nice amber color with a medium white head. Strong lacing. Pleasant aroma of citrus/grapefruit. Very nice bitter citrus and hoppy flavor. I'm a big fan of this beer. Especially for the price. I only wish it was more readily available. I strongly recommend this beer."
