Never Summer Ale is a bold new look at winter beers: gutsy, full-bodied and an aggressive fusion of secret spices. Like the first run of the day, this ale is deep and clean, crisp and drinkable, perfectly blended for a smooth ride... through the Looking Glass.

"Pours a clean amber colour with a big foamy beige head, great retention and decent lacing. Smells like caramel malt, dark fruits, alcohol, with hints of molasses and spices. Smooth mouthfeel with no burn at all. The taste is pretty close to the aromas, with the added hops (which gets better as you drink it). No cinnamon and ginger as I was expecting it, but a little burnt wood in the finish. The caramel is well-balanced with the molasses. Pretty good (and refreshing) at room temperature, even during summer."

"A beer of the month club entry for Dec/jan2011. Had this one for breakfast today and glad I did. Nicely fruity with an artfully tasteful helping of full citrus hoppy flavor. Will miss this one when the supply runs out! "

"Growler from Bearden Beer Market: Nice clear copper amber pour with a adequate two-finger creamy head leaving copious amounts of lacing throughout. Decent carbonation. Malty aroma upfront with some caramel, sweet floral, very slight orange, and hint of hops. Taste is lightly sweet, caramel malty, with a slight spicy floral hops end. Very nice and subdued. Thoroughly enjoyable. "

"It pours a shiny brown-red color(dark copper) with thin off-white head and some lace. Fresh aroma of caramel malts, light hops, peanut, lemon/citrus, and mild spices. The mouthfeel is smooth and rich. Flavors of the caramel malts, hops, lemon/lime, some nuttiness, and mild spices. Good stuff!"

"A bright reddish colored ale. Fairly big frothy tannish head rises above. But disappears quickly leaving a fairly impressive sudsy lacing. The hops (citrus) dominate with a faint background of sweet malt. The body is smooth and moderate to heavy. Carbonation is adequately balanced. The spices are in the taste and they impact the big citrus hops. Not as spicy as I’d expect of the style, but the it is a good beer. "
