Richly mahogany in color, Brooklyn Brown Ale is richer and hoppier than it's mild and maly English forebears. Chocolate and coffee flavors punctuate the roasty malt background.

"Bottle: Poured a deep cloudy brown color ale with a huge foamy head with good retention and light lacing. Aroma of huge caramel malt with some toffee notes. Taste is also a mix between some very rich caramel malt with some notes of toffee and no major discernable presence of hops. Body is full with some average carbonation. The best-by date was April 2008 but still very drinkable and more enjoyable then I had expected."

"I'm glad Brooklym Brewery has followed this snowbird transplant south. This brown ale is a maple brown body ale with an off-white head that maintains good retention.. There is a prominence of sweet, roasted malt nose with complex hints of caramel, chocolate, and citrus. The balance leaves a dry more sweet than bitter finish."

"How have I not had this before? I had this on cask at the Atlanta Cask Ale Festival. I was a bit surprised by the nuttiness of the malt. Pretty tasty beer."

"A delicious tasting beer that had a great balance between sweet and bitter. The dark brown beer with a white head had caramel and chocolate flavors that were followed by a hint of hops. Another very good beer from Brooklyn Brewery."
