"Eggenberg Doppelbock was a well done brew! It poured a brown color with nice carbonation (very bubbly) but no head. Almost a slight red hue within the brown. The taste started off malty and sweet but finished with a smoky/spicy hop kick. I enjoyed this one alot. Despite the complexity, it was very drinkable too! "

"Brown, but pretty translucent, with a nice light head that didn't last too long. Light bodied for the style. Sweet, caramelish malt, but not thick and overbearing. Actually tasted, to me, like a very malty marzen. In fact, it reminded me of how Spaten Oktoberfest used to be years ago, but a little sweeter. I would say it worked... I enjoyed it a lot."

"Pours a dark chocolatey brown, with a one finger head that settles quickly to just a ring. The lacing is thicker than expected, leaving a nice web.
Smell; sweet caramel and toffee malts are present, but they are a bit subdued. There doesn't seem to be anything going on in the aroma other than a significant alcohol presence.
Taste; very sweet, with the caramel, toffee and chocolate malts, and just some hints of bitterness, but not very much. There's a bit of a metallic twang in the background, but on the plus side the alcohol is barely noticeable at all.
Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied, and very smooth with the low carbonation, and the drinkability is only decent with this being so sweet. I could definitely only drink one of these in a night."
