"A very strong beer with an overwhelmingly detectable alcohol presence that turned me off. The beer is clear, golden, and has a thin white head. The aroma is alcohol, yeast, more alcohol, and a small amount of sweet malt. The taste is alcohol, and hidden in there is some sweet malt and a little hoppish bitterness."

"Seasonal offering at the LCBO with an expiry date on back label: 06.2009. Pours a rich golden colour with big bubble carbonation (but not too much of it) that forms a foamy white head. This one disappears very quickly though, leaving no lace. The aroma reminds me of malt liquor, but only milder. Malty with notes of apricot. Wow ! Quite smooth for such a strong beer. You feel no burn with this one. The taste is creamy and malty with a touch of wood. Was expecting this brew to be sweeter and syrupy, but not the case, which I find is great. Seems like a really well brewed malt liquor. "

"330ml bottle
9.60% ABV
I tried this beer on March 12, 2008 after purchasing it from my one of my local LCBO outlets. The beer poured an orangy-gold colour into the glass with a 1/2 inch white head that quickly disappeared. The aroma was sweet malt, some caramel, and some grass. The mouthfeel was thin-bodied and medium carbonated. The flavour was sweet malt, with some milky hints. Not all that enjoyable a dopplebock."

"Powerfully sweet aroma, some newly fermented applesauce jumbled with flowery perfume and sugary breads. It grabs your attention immediately. Crisp golden-orange pour with a collapsing head leaving little lace. Mouth feel is thick and viscous, finishes smooth and watery almost like the last half of a scotch on the rocks. The high abv provides a nice warming effect. Flavor is overly sweet with lots of bready malt and sugary biscuits. Flowery with a faint trace of scotch, it's interesting. Powerful stuff indeed."

"Interesting, i guess. Very sweet. To the point that its hard to enjoy it. I like when a beer with a high %abv is masked by flavors and bitterness and not sitting side by side with the extremely sweet maltiness. Not sure where they were going with this but i did pick out a distinct piney hops bitterness somewhere in there. Spices and caramel flavors were noticable as well. A unique brew i guess..."
