The Abbot Castulus, renowned for his kindness, began the traditional brewing of Abbey Beer in Zeliv. The year was 1149. Today Castulus Mead Ale, named after the Good Abbot, will please you by its mild and characteristic flavour.
In Europe, only religious orders had the right to brew abbey beer. Today, the monks of the Premonstratensian Order take special care in producing this unique beer.
Try it. No other beer tastes quite like our Abbey Beer!

"Hey! Who stole the head? This poured totally headless, with a body of semi-clear dark amber. The aroma was of spices and sweet dark fruit, as was the taste. The mouthfeel was "flat", but otherwise solid. Finish was again with the sweet."

"Golden colour, mediumsized white head. Very sweet sugary aroma. Sugary flavour, with also hops and malts. Sweet aftertaste. Fullbodied, and rather sweet beer, but indeed a very pleasant one. "
