"A picnic among friends and I bring some foreign lagers to sample. Admittedly my first with what I offered. This Costa Rican lager has an impressive label. A pale yellow-golden bodies beer. Decent carbonation, The soapy head is moderate upon pour settling quickly into a ring. Very weak aroma....what there was seemed sweet. I didn't get a lotta hops in the the taste either. A lot of corn in the mash. But it is smooth and refreshing."

"As far as pale lagers go, this wasn't entirely bad. I mean you can only do so much with a pale lager and thankfully this didn't have any apparent issues that cause one to gag when drinking this kind of beer. Light grain notes dominate the nose and flavor. Really crisp beer with a clean finish. I can see quite a few of these going really nicely with some spicy food. Not bad actually. "

"Picked up this "Cerveza Imperial Beer" thinking I was maybe scoring a new country, but alas, Ole already scored me Costa Rica. In any event, this Costa Rican beauty (La Florida Bebidas) is a fairly typical pale lager in appearance (how do people drink this kind of stuff regularly?), aroma is normal corny, grainy, skunky. The flavor is corny, grain, skunky, metallic, and additionally apple cidery. The latter was the most distinguishing feature within the style, snore. Mouthfeel was typical."

"So I finally got some Costa Rican cerveza and I am looking forward to trying it, although, I do not have high expectations about this brew but at least the bottle looks cool and the writing is all in Spanish. Well, the aroma is grainy and very malty but not skunky like I expected and has some hay or straw aromas as well and is full of corn accents. The appearance is an extremely pale yellow and when I say extremely, I mean it because this beer is almost clear but does have a nice and full head on top that is bleach white in color and very fluffy and full and diminishes to a light and soapy head that remains and has much carbonation. The mouthfeel is very light-bodied and extremely watery with not much way in complexity or balance with a palate that is very watery and very light. The flavor is grainy with no skunk present with maybe some very slight sweetness with some very faint malty overtones with even less of a hop profile with an aftertaste that is almost tasteless and very watery with some very faint grain in the finish and is very light and really is as light as just plain tap water. Overall, this beer has hardly any taste whatsoever and is only like water in a glass with some slight yellow food coloring added. This brew is at least easy to drink and is unoffensive for sure and just boring but this 32oz. will be easy to drink and I will add another country to my beerpal profile...if you see this brew, why the hell not pick it up just for kicks. "12oz bottle, purchased at the Coaster Bar in San Diego, during Iceman’s going away bash.
This is actually quite drinkable for macro-swill. Nothing spectacular, nothing bad. I wouldn’t pay for it again, but I’d drink it in a pinch, or if it were free"
