Discovery Ale was the beer on Brew Sheet number one, back in early 1997. The beer is a honey pale ale, but we didn’t use just any old honey. Since fireweed is the official flower of the Yukon, we thought that it would be only right if the first brew should use fireweed honey, which results in a different flavour from other honey beers.
Discovery Ale is coppery in colour, and (like all of our beers) finishes dry on the tongue.

"Total ass beer. Poured out a crystal clear, weak dark honey brown brew with a wimpy light tan head. The aroma was brutal right off the bat - sweaty, fishy? Horrid. However, the aroma does improve but still sucks! Ample honey and waaaaay too sweet (orange?), boring brew pub quality style. The flavour revolves around the maltiness but there is a very unappealing hop bitterness. Honey. Tastes like something you'd make in your basement while line dancing infront of stuffed animals and baked on a mixture of percaset, cough syrup, lemon gin and nutmeg. Light to medium light bodied, solid carbonation and sort of soapy. A crap beer. Save your money for 5 packs of white tube socks."

"Bottle courtesy of Irondjin: Poured a deep golden and dark honey color ale with a small bubbly head with minimal retention. Aroma of sweet malt with some unrefined grain is more or less pleasant. Taste is also dominated by some sweet malt with this unpleasant unrefined grain taste which was not appreciated. Body was fuller then average with some low carbonation. "

"Beer poured a crystal clear reddish brown with no cap worth mentioning, beer is boring and bland looking. Aroma is horrid sweet b.o. and that’s all I’m going to say, this just smells horrid but I have smelt worse. Taste seems artificially sweet, and seems to be made up of stale corn and sugar, no hops can be tasted by me. Mouth feel was fairly slandered maybe a touch thin and the after taste is very buttery. The beer seems to made up of random products acquired at the wall mart pet food discount bin. Taste like shyte pray you don’t discover this in your fridge."
