City Winter Porter smolders with a dark complexity imparted from a blend of roasted, caramel and pale barley malts. Balanced with the black-current notes of the Bullion hop, Winter Porter has a depth of flavor and satiny finish that will compliment any winter gathering.

"This seasonal brew from City Brewery in LaCrosse pours a medium tan, bubbly head over a dark brown body with red highlights. The nose is mostly absent, with only a hint of roasted malt. Mouthfeel is full and smooth; flavor of pleasantly sweet lightly-roasted malt with caramel notes and a flavorful hop finish. This was actually quite a bit better than I expected out of this large brewery, which seems to specialize in mass-produced lagers, light beers and malt liquor. This is not some anemic, watered-down misrepresentation of a Porter, but rather a fine, drinkable, well-crafted version of the style. I hope this is an indication of fine things to come from CB. "
