Clancy's is a smooth, full-bodied amber ale made with two types of malt, hops, corn and true top fermenting ale yeast, to create a medium bodied English style beer. Clancy's is craft brewed and aged longer for taste, giving it a sweet, malty aroma with a hint of coffee and a fleeting bitter taste.

"I've had this beer a few times and it's always refreshing. The beer is a clear reddish colour with a small head. The aroma is caramel malt with maple hints. The flavour is malty with a hint of hops. Not outstanding, but certainly an enjoyable beer."

"On tap at Robber’s Roost in Halifax.
Poured a crystal red amber..fair off ewhite cap that stayed a while, moderate carbonation.
Aroma is sweet, malty, some grass, light whiffs of fruit.
Mild in character, smooth and inoffensive almost lager-like
Nice dose of bready-sweet malt up front then a good balance from some piney hopping, some nut and fruit tones from the roasted malt...wet finish with gradual bittering and a mild metallic after taste.
Probably one of the better commercial east coast beers but not as ale-like as Black Pearl.

"Poured from can with a (surprinsgly) generous head, a very pretty amber held up to the light. Leaves some lacing. Seems pretty good from the looks of things. Fairly predictable aroma - lots of amber malt, light hops and odd apple/brown sugar funk. Flavour follows the same typical profile, pretty weak but nothing offensive. A little too 'macro' in character too be a definite sweet or any other quality, but maybe a light bitterness. You can tell the quality control isn't too closely watched. To their credit however, they keep the amber malt clean and tastefull. Very light bodied however carbonation well suited. I have no problems drinking this...one or two, anyways...

"Crisp start, full finish, great color, great head, very refreshing. For fun I gave some to an American friend who usually drink G. Killian's Irish Red. Even he admitted that there is no comparison. Clancy's is a solid Amber."

"Nice mouthfeel but Chopz is right, a bit watery. Good head and goes down nice when cold out of the bottle. Be warned, sometimes the pitchers are a bit flat and worn out. It is a step above the swill. "
