"Pours a thick opaque, dark chocolatey brown colour with a large brown head. Aroma is soft of dark chocolate, black coffee and cinnamon. Mouthfeel is relatively smooth, creamy and full flavored. Taste is awesome, lots of flavor, fruity but chocolatey as well- chocolate covered fruit!"

"Pours a blackened ruby. This isn’t the worst of porters, but it’s a little roasty and ends up coming across like a thin stout. Not really all that bad. Pretty dry, though."

"Pours very nice with a thick head on it. Take a while to settle down. Has a great base and a smooth taste. Traditional hard aftertaste of a porter that is very charcoaly."

"This is one of the worst beers I've had in awhile. The flavor just destroys anthing it has going for it. It may be great to look at (black as night), malty, roasty and coffee in the nose, the flavor of licking the burnt coals in a BBQ pit is just horrendous. This was sickening and I will never buy again. It's just not palatable. Unfortunately, I'm stuck with another bottle or two."

"This porter pours a deep brown color from a 22oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head, with good lacing. Aroma is chocolate and coffee with some spiciness. A medium bodied porter. Malts are chocolate and coffee. Touch of banana and clove, and lots of chocolate. It is kind of sweet for a porter, but I like it. There is also some fruitiness as well. Smooth out and opens up as it warms. Nice beer. The ‘Farmhouse’ series of beer from Coast Range is very promising. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is crisp and dry. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.
