"My Christmas ale this year... Pours a clear dark tea/cola brown with an ample creamy head that is sustained throughout leaving very tight lacing. Great carbonation - almost fizzy. Aromas of sweet malts, ripe dates, raisins, with almonds and a slight hint of smoke, then more slight sweetness of caramel or toffee but not overly sweet. Tastes of slightly toasted and very slightly smoky malts with caramel then slight nuts and fruits and a hint of bitterness in the end. Great ale - glad I enjoyed this one for Christmas."

"A little disappointed in this one, the aroma and flavors were barely present however there were very, very faint hints and tastes of raisin, and malts but not much else. It looked nice with a very deep brown body, plenty of carbonation and a good head. Mouthfeel was smooth and the alcohol was well hidden. I liked this beer overall but the flavors should have been more assertive for such a highly rated brew. I would like to give it a second chance someday."

"Pours a deep dark mahogany with a large creamy beige head. Taste is rich with roasted malts and toffee flavors and a subtle coffee undertone. Tastey, very pleasent. Aroma is nutty, noticeable oak with a soft hint of smoke. "

"Poured a clear reddish-brown into the Corsendonk tulip. The tan head was dense and billowy with great retention. The deep, rich sour cherry nose disguised the dry burnt-toffee and brown sugar flavors, teamed with malt, faint peat and only light fruit. Good complexity; nice beer. MUSIC: 'Saro' by Samamidon. "

"Ruby brown with a creamy white head. Yeasty aroma of toffee and light chocolate with small notes of yellow fruit. Yeasty flavour of oranges, almond and toffee. Hints of resin. Lively carbonation. Fruity and spicy sweet finish. "
