"Pours dark brown with a light brown head. Smells of cpeat, roasted malt, boozy, caramel, molasses, raisins. Tastes smoky and roasty with some chocolate, complimentary coffee, some bitterness. Nice rich velvety mouthfeel. Excellent."

"A black appearance with a tan head. The aroma contains some coffee, chocolate, and a decent amount of smoke. The flavor is rather bitter with loads of coffee and chocolate. The smoke is there but not over the top either. Overall this was a nice beer! "

"Bottle shared graciously by Slob. Appearance was brown to black, clear brown (not reddish or mahoganey) edges, weak lacing, especially for a stout. The aroma was smokey, barbecue, burnt peat, even some light grassy notes. The flavor was burnt, smoke, choco-cocoa, peaty, grassy, very similar to a scottish ale with some ash in it. The mouthfeel was silky and oily. This one didn't win me over, but it was a neat experience and one that I'm yet again in-debted to my good tastin' bud, Bert. Thanks, Bert!"

"Pours with a black body topped by a thin head with little lacing. It’s slightly sweet and roasty with a nice malt note and a little coffee and chocolate. The flavor has an added smokiness. Full bodied and smooth."
