De Dolle's Dulle Teve has been matured for over 24 months in wooden casks previously used by Etienne Dupont/France to mature his famous Calvados de Normandie. The over two year maturation in those wooden casks has allowed De Dolle Dulle Teve to mellow, lose its agressive carbonation and dryness, and develop a new balance of flavors triggered by the tannin, vanilla and butterscotch flavors of E.Dupont's Calvados casks.

"Aroma is strong, fruity, funky, with some banana-clove as well as some light hops, bitterness, airy, clean, and crisp. Appearance is golden, cloudy yellow with a bleach white head on top that is highly carbonated and remains. Mouthfeel is clean, fresh, crisp, complex, and dry with hop complexity. Flavor is crisp, fruity, yeasty, with some hoppiness and damn good. Overall, great brew and very strong and a bit alcoholic; great addition this one is..."

"Bottle from Bert, thanks bud! The appearance was a murky cider color with hefty sedimentation and a very nice, well sustaining head and continuous carbonation. The aroma was of candy apples and light cinammon, some yeast. Flavor of apples, grapes, and wine. Upon further warming, light yeast, vanilla, oak, and white pepper. Mouthfeel was moderate to heavy for the style, smooth, but amply carbonated even after aging."

"Bottle: Poured a hazy golden yellow color ale with a huge foamy white head with great retention. Aroma of apple is quite dominant and weirdly enough reminiscent enough of ice cider; alcohol was not that overly apparent as I would have expected from reading ratings for this beer. Taste is also dominated by the apple component from the Calvados but again very reminiscent of ice cider and was very much enjoyable. Body was above average and alcohol while being evident was not providing a burning-type sensation, which I often dislike. Definitely will be seeking more of this in the future."

"07.03.05 330ml bottle. Glowing orange amber pour; tall, creamy head of light beige foam seems immortal. First whiff, yowzah! Monster aromas of tree fruits (apple, pear), pineapple, cookie, vanilla, coconut milk. Hidden brandy notes emerge with temp. Body is full, creamy, and still lively. Tingly eff compliments and subdues a big alcohol presence. Sour green apple flavors join the party, with nougat and vanilla, it’s a glass of boozy and delicious candy. Not overly done, just a great beer given time to come into it’s own. Great now, and certainly a good candidate for stashing a few in a dark corner. Thank you De Dolle!"

"Pours with a golden body topped by a medium thick head with a good amount of lacing. It’s slightly sweet and slighlty fruity with a peppery hop note and a nice flowery note. Medium to full bodied, dry and slightly numbing."
