"This stout is very unique and very different from any other stout I have ever drunk. It had a deep dark brown thick head with a black body. The first thing I smelled was licorice which was of the bitter English style. When I tasted this beer I was immediately overtaken by the English style licorice followed by burnt and roasted flavors. This beer had a good balance of roasted and burnt malty flavors complemented by a strong licorice flavor. A medium bodied beer that is a pleasure to consume."

"An interesting beer to say the least. Quite different from the standard American take on stouts. Aroma was chocolatey, some toffee, subtle roasted coffe and malt notes too. Underneath it all was an odd fruity/apple like character that seemed to lurk around the entire time. Appearance was dark, but it carried some dark brown notes around the edges. Huge eruptive dark tan head too. Took awhile for it to reduce to drinkable status. Mouthfeel was on the thin side of things. Nothing bad, just..pedestrian. Flavor was something different, although I'm not sure I'd find myself longing for it after I've consumed the whole bottle. Chalky chocolate on the palate with a sour funkyness that, although different, I didn't really like in my stout. Plus the alcohol hit ya like a freight train. Nothing really complex, and aside from this one occasion I doubt I will retry unless it's at a tasting. Too many other great stouts to try."

"Dark brown colour, huge brown fluffy head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee and smoke. Flavour has the same in it. Slightly acidic hopping in the finish in my opinion, but still a very good beer. "

"I wish that I would have read previous reviews prior to trying to pour this stout! Ended up with a three inch head and half inch of beer! It was worth the wait. Dark, dark black color, tan fluffy head that maintains throughout, chocolately coffee flavor. Enjoyed!"

"Pours near black with a montainous everlasting tan head. Aroma is a mix of Belgian and Stout... chocolate, burnt dark roast coffee, clove, peppery spicy alcohol notes, and tart fruits. Started sweet, molasses and chocolate, thinned out and dried out midpalate while displaying dark roast coffee, prunes, cloves, and finishes out spicy and dry. 9%abv let's itself be known here and there with a peppery kick, but it's not too distracting. Overall a very decent beer, and certainly very interesting."
