Delirium Nocturnum is a dark ale of 9% alcohol. It is a triple fermentation ale using 3 different yeast strains and 5 different malts. Incredibly well-balanced for an ale this high in alcohol, the bouquet has an aromatic sweetness. The body is bursting with flavors of raisins, bittersweet chocolate, and aniseed. The finish is long and develops into a hoppy aftertaste.

"This beer poured a reddish brown color with a big frothy tan head. Lots of lacing with an aroma of alcohol, molasses, and caramel. I really wanted to love this beer but just thought it was ok. "

"This brew poured a clear amber with a medium tight tan head which left a little lacing. Aroma was bread/yeast with some alcohol. Mouthfeel was medium. The flavor was sweet with a mild alcohol presence. Flavor improves as the brew warmed hints of fruit including rasins, figs and bananas. Overall, very nice one to sip and share."

"Thanks to patra for this wonderful birth day gift.
Nocturnum pours a dark brown with a ruby hue and a thick white head that slowly thins out. The aroma is wonderful and full of ripe fruit, candy and melon. The flavor is full of sweet fruits. Dried apricot, plum, orange marmalade and pineapple. There are sweet bready malts as well that mix with the fruit flavors to give this beer a fruit cake quality that has been laced with warming alcohol. This is a delightful Belgian ale with a full body, average carbonation and a sweet finish.

"2008 as stated on the cork, 8.5% abv per the label. Remarkable deal from the local grocer, methinks this was priced the same as the smaller Tremens bottles. Somewhat clear amber color with a medium sized tight tan head. Stings of thin lacing make their way around and down the glass. Sweet bread aroma along with some earthy mustiness. On the thinner side for this style, sweet to the taste buds and finishes with a crisp emptiness. Very mild alcohol presence. Flavor is underdeveloped at first, but much more complexity becomes noticed as this beer is given time to open up. An airy fruitiness packing tastes of raisins, strawberries, figs and banana. Belgian yeast provides a good earthiness to counter the sweetness. Pleasant floral quality along with an underlying bitterness. It's a nice sipper, but a touch too thin and underwhelming to really stand out."
