Deschutes Brewery’s latest seasonal beer BuzzSaw Brown celebrates the early days of Bend, Oregon, as a timber town when two of the country’s largest pine sawmills operated on the banks of the Deschutes River using the cold rushing water to move logs and cool the mill workings.
Milder than Deschutes Brewery’s flagship, Black Butte Porter, BuzzSaw Brown is biscuity in character with a light hop profile. BuzzSaw Brown is an
easy-drinking beer that is refreshing after a hard day’s work.

" This is a pretty average beer. It poured a nice brown color with lots of white head. This beer had tons of lacing. I got Roasted malt flavor that was a little bitter. It smelt a little like caramel."

"I liked this one for a brown. It was very light but had a nice nutty and good balance. Poor light brown with a bit of a head. I enjoyed the light to meduim body. A very easy drinking beer. "

"This brown ale pours a dark brown color from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is sweet malts, biscuit, chocolate and some fruit. Medium bodied brow ale. Malts are caramel and sweet, with some dark fruit and chocolate. Hops are floral and earthy. Nice balance. Good carbonation. It a touch over the top with the sweet biscuty malts, but not in ant real objectionable way. Very drinkable brown ale, decent session ale. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is sweet and slightly hoppy. "

"An attractive brown coloured ( what else!) ale with a beautiful creamy, thick tan head. Smells mostly of caramel style malts, slightly roasty, and a tinge of hop. Nice smooth malty taste, slightly bitter, light cofeeish hints and a slight butteryness. Some hops near the end add a small "zing" and help overall. For me this beer has an odd sensation on the palate, it seems well carbonated but yet is smooth.odd yet nice. A very easy to drink. A good brown with slightly more hops than usual for the style."
