After months of experimentation, energy and obsession, Deschutes Brewery’s brewers have triumphed once again with their newest creation - Inversion IPA. Inversion’s trio of American hops delivers an over-the-top nose with hints of orange and grapefruit. Inversion is then dry-hopped for seven days resulting in an added hoppy kick. To balance the hop character of Inversion, Deschutes’ brewers used crystal and caraston malts that weave throughout the beer providing soft, complex caramel flavors. Inversion IPA is smooth and delicious. Just like clear days up on the mountain, Inversion IPA will deliver a path to higher ground. Inversion will be available year-round starting in early April on draft and in 6-packs. Inversion IPA is a phenomenal NW-style IPA, beckoning all beer drinkers and enticing IPA lovers to invert their world and find clarity above the routine of the everyday. Alc. By Vol. 6.8% IBUs 75

"Sampled on draft at Falling Rock, Denver, 08/07. Pours dark copper with nice head and sheets of lacing. Floral hop & rich malt aroma. Bitter, but malt complexity still a big component of the IPA. Medium-full body and creamy. Nice."

"For some reason I just really, really like this beer. Started with a foamy white head, slight in size, above a body of brilliant and clear dark amber. Hops a plenty in the aroma, and a pleasure it was to inhale this heavenly scent. Taste was marvellously hopped and bitter without being crazy, accompanied by a slightly 'sharp' mouthfeel. Finished smooth. "

"Pours a brownish-copper with thick tan head and lacing. Hoppy aroma with notes of lemon, orange peel, mint, grass, and pepper. The mouthfeel is smooth, creamy, and full-bodied. Flavor of caramel malts, hops, citrus, and spicy. Really good, although the mouthfeel is strong."

"The 1st time I ever had this, I pulled a mossy, leech covered bottle out of the Merced River near Yosemite. 103 degrees that day, it was soooo good.
Pours a hazy deep copper color with a frothy head and nice lacing. Aroma of floral, fuity, piney hops and caramel, malt. Mouthfeel is light/medium, smooth with a hop bitterness lingering. The taste starts sweet but the piney, citrus, grapefruit catches up, good malt balance. "

"(became rating #2000, though the plan for #2000 was another one...). Hazy, darkish amber colour with small beige head. Aroma is fruitish and flowery hops with sweet candyish hints. Liked the aroma very much. Flavour again is grassy, slight caramellish and hayish. Quite standard IPA. "
