"K, I've had this once before, when the 2005 first came out and it was better but today.... I'm drinking my other bottle of the 2005 and it is just not good.
Looks great of course: massive bright white bubbly head from the champaign style, light yellow beer, endless effervesance, lots of sticky lacing. The aroma right off the bast did not appeal to me at all, but now that I've gotten used to it I see that therre is more to it. Stink, 7-Up, a bit of skunk, weird spicy cooked meat, more 7-Up. Taste is terribly disappointing and is a borderline pour out. Odd spice, an odd meaty spice added, alcohol, yeast, water, musty, it does have the taste of an unpleasant Belgian strong, for me there is very little to like here. Mouth feel is so-so, a bit more than medium bodied, not ass much carbonation as I would have expected, very dry, a bit syrupy, aftertaste is a very spicy yeasty ickness. i realize that I've reviewed a cellared beer and it is quite old but I was not a fan even then as I was chugging everything in site during a poker tourney where me, mmmmbeer and beercronicshero got destroyed within the first hour of the tourney... there are rumors of me giving lap dances in my wife's g-string.... A 2.8 rating is generous at best considering the 9 for appearance. Also of note is my un-fondness for Belgium strongs."

"Wow................this is one bad-ass expensive brew. A friend and I paid $55.00 for a bottle of this. This is more champagner than it is beer. The beer pours a pale yellow (like a white wine) with a frothy white head and tons of effervescence. The aroma is yeasty with malt and hops in the mix. The flavour is malt, and some spicy hints."

"2005: rated within style. WOW! This IS the champagne of beers. He price is a bit much, but unfortunately am liking it a lot. It's crisp, light, citrusy, VERY bubbly, with a creamy finish. This very much exceeded my expectations."

"Bottle (2002 enjoyed in 2007): Poured a medium beige/orangey color ale with a light white bubbly head with average retention. Aroma of dry cereal with some saison-like yeasty notes. Taste was quite dry with some nice malt presence and a dry yeasty finish. Carbonation was a bit too much for my liking but I guess that is part of this beer style. Even though this beer packs a bit of alcohol, I couldn’t detect any alcohol notes. While this beer was quite interesting and complex, it does confirm that I am not a big fan of Champagne and even though brew with beer ingredient, I still don’t dig the mouthfeel."

"Wholly bubbly batman!!! Tons of carbonation, there are columns of bubbles constantly and quickly floating to the top of my beer producing a massive snow white head with the body of this beer being pure gold in color. Wow you can even see the bubbles in the stream of beer from the bottle to glass when you pour. The aroma is very floral, and smells a lot like orange juice mixed with sprite, and I swear I also smell cat food!?!?!?!?! The first thing I notice in the taste is alcohol, and lots of floral flavors, it taste allot like a gin and juice. Very nice flavor, lots of citrusy notes, and lots of alcohol maybe a touch too much because I swear either the couch or the TV is moving right now. I like this beer just don't drink the entire bottle to your self like I just did because it kicks you in the nuts. I think I’ve rated this beer to high but it can't be rated any lower its hard to explain."
