Brewed in the tradition of Scotch Ales, this beer has similar flavours characteristic of this style, all the while being lighter and less strong in alcohol. The oats give the beer complexity and a characteristic cereal taste.
The Edimbourg oat ale was born in our Montreal brewpub in February 2004

"Enjoyed at the brewpub itself (written "ale écossaise ŕ l'avoine" beside its title on the chalkboard). Poured a cloudy beige-brown colour with a caramel malt nose and a touch of maple syrup. The mouthfeel was watery with a little fizz. Grainy malt taste with a mild hoppiness in the finish. Very interesting brew that is a great session ale. Refreshing and tasty. "
