Péché Mortel, or "Mortal Sin," Is not made by monks, who, frankly, don't have that much else to do. The Dieu du Ciel brewers actually have other things going on, have sex constantly (though never on brew day), and yet find time to come up with stuff like this. C'est formidable!

"THis beer poured with a black body topped off by a medium sized creamy light brown colored head that left very patchy sheets of lace down the sides of the glass. The aroma is bold rich coffee, cocoa, and smoke. The mouthfeel was fairly full bodied and creamy but not quite as rich or full as I had expected. The flavor is big roasted coffee, licorice, burnt oak, and bitter dark chocolate. "

"A truly great beer. I had heard a lot about this beer without it really sinking in. A very dark beer. The aroma was almost like a Tim Horton's coffee (without the cream and sugar). The mouthfeel was smooth, creamy, and full-bodied. The flavour was again coffee-like with some hoppy bitterness throen in for good measure."
