"A dark red-brown beer with a huge brown head. The aroma contains notes of coffee and chocolate as well as hints of leather on a slightly sour background. The flavor is sweet with notes of coffee and roasted malt leading to a dry end that also contains notes of chocolate."

"Pretty forgettable stout from Dogfish Head. Not sure if I'll ever have a beer from them that really wow's me. The beer pours out black in color with a faint, thin white head. Aroma is chocolate and coffee but all at too subtle levels for my personal enjoyment. Flavor was nearly on par with the nose...chocolate and coffee. No complexity, no deep character of either the chocolate or coffee. Taste is nearly uneventful. "

"Pours a dark black colour with a large tan head. Plenty of carbonation, dry mouthfeel. roasted malts, touch of spice and a little oak in the finish. somewhat chocolatey, but mostly what i notice is the dryness."

"Yet another winner from Dogfish Head. It pours an opaque sable with a very thick tan head. Aroma is not strong but "stouty" - smoky and with a strong coffee undertone. Flavor is smooth, smoky with a good tang and hints of molasses and coffee. Finish is pleasant, coffee-like with just a touch of hop bitterness."

"I am looking forward to this new one and I am sure I am going to find myself comparing this to Terrapin's Wake-n-Bake. The aroma is very coffee-like with hints of dark chocolate and sweet malts with some burnt overtones as well as some molasses. The appearance is pitch-black but a very rich and dark amber in color when held to the light with a large head on top that is creamy and frothy and very carbonated and a light-tan in color and leaves nice, stringy lacing on the glass. The mouthfeel is rich and full with tons of balanced burnt malt as well as complexity with a palate that is thick and robust. The flavor is of expresso, cappuccino, sweet malt, and morning coffee with an aftertaste that is creamy and frothy and damned tasty with a finish that is sharp and malty. Overall, very nice product here but I assumed it would be bigger on the coffee overtones and the alcohol is masked very well; almost as good as Wake-n-Bake for sure. "
