More on Madagascar Vanilla: Because of the rich soil and ideal climate of Madagascar, an island off the coast of Africa, the Vanilla Beans from this area are considered the finest in the world, thereby setting the standard in excellence for vanilla flavor. They are long and slender, with a thick, dark, oily skin that is very rich in taste and in aroma. Vanilla pods, or beans, are the fruit of a small yellow orchid plant. The entire process of Vanilla cultivation, pollination and harvesting is done by hand without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilizers. After the pods, which look a lot like green beans, are picked they need to dry and ferment to develop their dark black color and sweet, aromatic flavor. Because this process takes many months, Vanilla is considered to be the most labor intensive of all agricultural products.
Beer Ratings and Reviews:

"Poured a dark brown color with red edges, medium sized tan head, and light lacing left on the glass. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla beans, roasted malt, and caramel. Taste of chocolate, sweet vanilla, buttercream, and a dry roasty finish. Heavily carbonated mouthfeel, due to it being force carbonated 45 minutes prior. Should settle down over the next couple days."
